Reflection Statement.
Having the opportunity to be able to create more blog posts for a class was an amazing experience. Once again, it teaches you other ways people can learn; by bringing media in and creating your own blog and writing class discussions on it. Having to do this assignment was easy, yet scary at times. You need to keep up with the blog check list, so you won't miss any important assignments. You can forget about the blog easily, but it's one of the most important things in the class besides the essays. It was fun, and interesting to see and read other people's ideas.
Keeping Up With The World.
Technology has advanced a lot throughout the years. Phones, for example. Now a days, you see most of the people with an Apple iPhone. Myself has been a victim of today's world. My family and I own 5 iPhones. My two younger siblings are 12, and already have one of the latest devices. It's amazing yet sad at the same time seeing our world and surroundings change fast. Sad because kids now a days don't play with toys, or things who are not lit up by light. They want tablets and phones to be entertained. iPhones and other recent technology are good, but don't let them control your life.
Instagram has to be one of the best popular media apps people also tend to use now a days. Instagram is basically a social network where only photos are being taken. You follow people and they follow you and both share that photo-sharing experience. Instagram can be very helpful if you're a traveler, or an everyday photo taker. It's funny to see social media be different, like Instagram. It's a social life full of photos of your favorite meal, or your current view of life.
Another trending topic out there is the infamous Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Millions and millions waited in line at their nearby store to get it at midnight. Shooting games in general are really popular yet they can influence bad options to the young. Kinds tend to imitate and copy other's actions, so it's bad for a kid to play games like this without any adult or parental supervision. A lot of people play this game, and I am sure it's going to be the same way for the next couple years.
Another hot topic out there is the popular Facebook. Millions use it world-wide. All types of people. It's a way to be able to connect and stay connected with close friends and family. Facebook was nothing back then when Myspace was still in the picture, but it's funny to see Myspace's statistics go down as people betray it and follow along to Facebook. I guess you go based on what others do, when it comes to social networking. People go for what's "hot" to be able to mingle around and waste personal time. Facebook can also be a time waster. Clearly a time waster. People waste hundreds of hours on it ranting about their relationship life and what not, their personal issues of life, and many other things. It can be interesting to read.
Last but not least, Twinkies. Recently, out of the blue, the Hostees product; Twinkies, have been cut for good. In fact, all of Hostees products. It's weird to see creamy cakes and other Hostees products disappear out of no where, leaving people with anger and depressed about their favorite snack. Twinkies were around since 1930, so it's tragic to see them go away just like that.
Into The Wild 2
Having to follow society's rules and expectations can influence you to try out new things in life and experience things without regret. Many themes can fit the whole overview of the book Into The Wild. One big theme option can be the choice of freedom. We as people experience many things in life that can make us change or be who we are. Christopher Mccandless, decided to leave the constructed world and decided to get rid and burn all of his belongings. He then went up to Alaska, and his decomposed body was found by a group of moose hunters. It makes sense that Chris wanted to go try out new things and do more of his own, but why would he go alone up in Alaska by himself?
Into The Wild 1
I think it's really tragic and such a mystery at the end of the book. It leaves the reader with an open view of the many possibilities that the end could of been told. It was an amazing story and easy to comprehend. At first I didn't quite have a connection with the book. But as I continued reading, it grabbed my attention and it's interesting that life can change people many ways.

Snickers like the candy bar? No. Sneakers like the shoe.
This article was perhaps interesting. Brands target certain people based on what they like, and mutual brands and items. People now a days wear specific clothing because of the image it promotes, and the image behind it. I also believe that the celebrities make a huge impact on who buys the item. For example, Kim Kardashian. Herself and her sisters own a clothing line, which they promote day by day. People like us, want to be dressed with the "latest" clothing available. Which makes us buy things even more if a celebrity promotes them. Although, I also believe there are people who wear a certain brand not because of the look, but on the comfort and the ability to buy the product.
The Ending of The Giver.
We currently finished reading The Giver. Although I hardly even read, I found this book a bit unique and interesting. It made me see the world differently. The fact that they had "Sameness" and what not all throughout the book, made it interesting to read. Towards the end, I am confused whether the died in the snow, or is Jonas dreaming? In my point of view, I think it depends on the reader. The ending is a bit ambiguous and allows the reader to make their own decision at the end of the book.
Ideal Community.
My Ideal Community I chose, was viewed via PowerPoint. I partnered up with Cesar Ruiz and decided to make it happen. We wanted to be a little bit unique with this assignment, and decided to narrow it down to one of the themes from The Giver; Sameness. Our community is basically based off equality. No one is left behind. Although it wasn't the best due to our images and short slides, I still think we nailed it when it came to the project in general.
